Detectives from the Logan District Criminal Investigation Branch have released the image of a man as they appeal for information about the violent assault of a 76-year-old man in Logan Village last Sunday.
Initial investigations indicate that just before 7pm, the 76-year-old man was involved in a fight with another man near a Camp Cable Road house.
The victim sustained serious head and chest injuries during the altercation before fleeing the property and running towards Camp Cable Road.
He was treated at the scene and taken to Logan Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or driven along the same road in Logan Village at the time or has dash camera footage to please come forward.
The man who may be able to assist with inquiries is Caucasian in his late 20s with a slim build, 174 centimetres tall , with light brown hair, and blue eyes.
That man or anyone who may know his whereabouts are asked to contact police.
Investigations are continuing.
