The Logan River is expected to break major flood levels by lunchtime. It’s already around 7.32 metres and rising.
Scenic Rim Mayor Greg Christensen is confident homes at Beaudesert won’t be impacted.
” Here at Beaudesert we’d need to see something like another four – four and a half metres of rise to start threatening properties. You might see some localised sheds at risk, in the meantime, but in terms of residential properties, we still have a significant buffer from that ingress”
Cathy from the Beaudesert News in Brisbane street has said there’s very little to suggest a flood event may happen.
“It’s, It’s honestly, it’s just a wet day. There’s a tiny little bit of water on the road down near the Council building and other than that it’s just a normal wet rainy day in Beaudesert”.
The owner of a Mount Tamborine business has been left flabbergasted by drivers trying to navigate flooded roads.
Darren Jack from Australian Outback Opals has witnessed several motorists driving through water, including a minibus full of people.
He has said the local postie even gave it a thought.
” If you see the cars go through the water hit the side of the cars and like pools up and puts pressure and I tho8ght if this bike goes through with all his mail bags and everything he’s just gonna topple over. So, he turned around and went off safely”.
