Police have charged a man over the alleged attempted murder of a woman at Woodridge today.
It’s alleged that around 10.15am, a 38-year-old woman went to a unit on Vitko Street to collect property when a 35-year-old man, who was known to her, allegedly assaulted and suffocated her, before using a knife to badly lacerate her throat.
The man contacted police an hour later was arrested and taken to Logan Hospital in a stable condition where he remains under police guard.
The woman was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition with significant head and face injuries.
The 35-year-old Woodridge man has now been charged with one count of attempted murder.
He’s scheduled to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow.
