If you’re ever tempted to use your mobile phone while driving around Logan City or the Scenic Rim, a word to the wise – don’t do it!
Hidden cameras have been catching drivers using their phones while behind the wheel and fines are being handed out.
Since the trial of the covert cameras started back in July, about 14,000 mobile phone offences have been detected across Queensland.
State treasury expects to bring in a total of $597 million in fines in the next financial year from a range of traffic fines.
The major offences include using mobile phones while driving, speeding and running red lights among other things.
