Geham: man, 27, charged after dangerous driving on New England Highway

Police are seeking witnesses and dashcam footage after a white Toyota Landcruiser ute was driven dangerously on the New England Highway at Geham.

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a traffic crash at Geham on Sunday 18 October.

It will be alleged that around 2.30pm a white Toyota Landcruiser utility was driven dangerously northbound along the New England Highway, forcing several cars to take evasive action. The utility later crashed at the intersections of Kahler Road and Strack Road.

Police will further allege that when officers arrived, the driver and sole occupant refused to comply with a roadside breath test and obstructed police. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

A 27-year-old Top Camp man has been charged with two counts each of obstructing police and failing to provide a specimen of breath or saliva, and one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle and stealing. He is due to appear at Toowoomba Magistrates Court on 13 November.

Police are asking anyone who saw the Toyota in the lead-up to the crash, or who was involved in the crash, or who has relevant dashcam footage, to come forward.
