Investigators are looking into whether two separate break ins at a Logan Village bottle shop and a Gold Coast tobacconist may be linked.
Shortly before 1am on December 31, three masked offenders forced their way into the Oakey Creek Road business at Coomera where they damaged a number of cupboards inside the store before stealing a quantity of cigarettes.
The vehicle police say was involved
It’s believed they then fled in a vehicle.
Less than an hour later, a group of masked thieves forced their way into a Logan Village bottle shop by smashing a glass door.
Once inside the store they removed a number of alcohol bottles before accelerating away in black SUV along Logan Street and then left onto Albert Street.
The vehicle is believed to have been stolen from a Gowan Road address at Calamvale on the morning of December 29
Investigations into both incidents continue.
