Police searching for witnesses to fatal motorcycle crash at Woodhill

  • Rod Stephen is a former television journalist and has worked as Foreign Editor for the Seven Network, Australian Bureau Chief for TV3 New Zealand, UK correspondent for Seven and ABC radio and as a producer for Reuters TV in London as well as SBS in Sydney and Melbourne before returning to Brisbane to work at 4BC.

Forensic Crash Unit officers are urging the drivers of two vehicles that were travelling southbound on the Mount Lindesay Highway around the same time as last Thursday’s fatal motorcycle crash at Woodhill to come forward.

The crash occurred around 11.20am just past the Woodhill Fire Brigade on the Mount Lindesay Highway between Jimboomba and Beaudesert.

Initial investigations indicate that the motorcycle travelled onto the wrong side of the road where it collided with an oncoming BT-50 ute and then a Ford Mustang, which burst into flames.

The 38-year-old motorcycle rider sustained critical injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
