  • Rod Stephen is a former television journalist and has worked as Foreign Editor for the Seven Network, Australian Bureau Chief for TV3 New Zealand, UK correspondent for Seven and ABC radio and as a producer for Reuters TV in London as well as SBS in Sydney and Melbourne before returning to Brisbane to work at 4BC.

A Logan City based rapid COVID-19  low-cost test has been unveiled and is ready to hit the European market.

After early signs of success by AnteoTech the Queensland Government put in $1.4 million to fast track the technology from the Browns Plains facility.

The test is capable of detecting COVID-19 in 15 minutes and has already received approval to be distributed across Europe where more than 46 million people have contracted the virus.

Chief Executive Officer, Derek Thompson is hoping it will also be made available in Australia.

” Our TGA process is about to begin and we’re hopeful we’ll get approval by the end of June for that”.

It comes after Brisbane based Ellume produced a rapid home testing kit which is being sold at pharmacies in the United States.
