Police warn that stealing from vehicles in Logan is increasing

Have you locked your vehicle? Police are seeing an increase in stealing from motor vehicles across Logan.

They say the increase is unusual behaviour with the majority of these incidents happening in Hillcrest, Regents Park and Browns Plains.

Property being targeted has been registration plates, tools and cash or credit cards which are being left in vehicles.

Police are calling for all vehicle owners to ensure they secure them when they’re parked on the road, in a driveway or even in a carport or garage.

There are a number of additional things they say you can do to prevent theft from vehicles:

  • Park your vehicle in well lit and highly visible locations
  • Where possible use secure parking
  • When parking in a garage ensure the vehicle and garage are locked
  • Secure you registration plates with anti-theft screws (available for FREE right here in Logan)
  • Remove valuables and personal items when leaving your vehicle unattended

Those simple steps can significantly reduce thefts occurring and reoccurring in Logan

Police will be proactively patrolling the worst affected areas and will be providing community members with crime prevention resources.
