A booming explosion was reportedly heard and felt throughout Munruben, as a fire destroyed a home last night.
Emergency services were called out to the house fire on the Mount Lindesay Highway, just before 10pm.
On arrival, crews found the two-story house well engulfed by fire, with fire through to the ceiling.
There were no occupants inside the dwelling at the time of the fire.
Firefighters had the inferno under control just before 11pm, but could not save the house.
The fire was extinguished by 1.30am.
The house has collapsed within and will need to be bulldozed.
Several Munruben locals reported hearing an explosion that shook their homes, while distressing local dogs throughout the neighbourhood.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
