Drivers in Logan City and the Scenic Rim are being urged to think twice before getting behind the wheel, especially if they’ve been drinking as New Year’s Eve approaches.
There have been more deaths on the region’s roads in 2020 compared to last year despite COVID lockdowns reducing travel.
AMA Queensland president professor Chris Perry said people often don’t realize they they’re over the limit the day after a big night.
“Do be careful how you drive, do be careful when you drive,” Dr Perry said.
“Do be careful when you drive after having a bit more to drink and a late night.”
