Today (Friday, October 16) is ‘Restart a Heart Day’ and Logan residents are being encouraged to learn CPR.
The Queensland Ambulance Service says only 1 in 10 people who suffer a cardiac arrest survive and having a bystander go through the simple steps of ‘Call, Push, Shock’ is crucial in keeping the patient alive until advanced medical care arrives.
“It’s a timely reminder that people have cardiac arrests every day and the best way to respond to this is to have some CPR training for everyone,” said QAS Clinical Director Tony Hucker.
“No matter how old you are, get out there and do a short course, learn how to do CPR, learn how to save a life.”
