Located high in the New South Wales tablelands just below the Queensland border, Tenterfield is known for its history and natural parks.

Emma Johnson from the Tenterfield Shire Council says one of the most appealing things about Tenterfield is the town’s seasons.

“With Tenterfield, a big draw card with people coming from Queensland, is that we have the true seasons here,” Ms Johnston says.

“So autumn colours, white frosty winters, spring blossoms, alpine summers – all year round, it’s very appealing.

“And coming into winter, it’s still a nice time to explore the national parks because there’s still blue sky days.

“We are pretty much a town that’s cocooned by natural parks.”

Tenterfield boasts many parks, including Bald RockBoonoo BoonooTorringtonTooloomKoreelah and Basket Swamp.
