The Toowoomba cycling community is pedalling for 24 hours to raise vital funds for children living with cancer.
Bikeline Toowoomba and Cafe de Velo commenced the 24 Hours of Toowoomba Charity Bike Ride at 3pm today to raise funds for Toowoomba Hospital’s cancer care services for children.
The charity ride consists of 14 groups of riders from various cycling organisations and groups across Toowoomba.
The groups ride for between one and two hours each with a baton being passed from group to group for the full 24 hours.
Bikeline are hoping to raise $10,000 in aid of supporting the upgrade of facilities for the Toowoomba Hospital Paediatric Oncology upgrade project.
Both Bikeline and Café de Velo have each pledged $1 per kilometre ridden during the 24-hours.
The last rider will return the baton to Cafe de Velo on Railway Street at 3pm tomorrow.
