Toowoomba Hospital has reopened to visitors after its Public Health Unit concluded their investigation into a suspected positive case of COVID-19.
The hospital shut its doors to visitors on Sunday afternoon over “public health concerns” related to possible exposure to the virus.
Only a handful of visitors were allowed into the hospital to see loved ones in the maternity and end-of-life wards if they had called ahead and spoken to the treating teams.
The hospital remained open to anyone who had booked an appointment or needed emergency care.
A Queensland Health spokeswoman confirmed that a visitor, who is a possible close contact of a confirmed case, had visited the hospital on Sunday.
