Unwanted distinction for Logan City

Two Logan City suburbs have earned the unwanted distinction of being the worst places for car thefts in southeast Queensland.

Beenleigh and Eagleby top the list with a total of 574 reported thefts in the past year.

According to data released by the Queensland police service (QPS), there has been a general increase in the reporting of cars being stolen since 2019.

Meantime, Logan district police have renewed their appeal for the public’s help to track down more stolen vehicles.

Another five vehicles, including utilities, sedans and a station wagon, have been reported stolen this week.

Police advise to always lock your screens, doors and garages even when you are home. Sneak offences occur when people are home and vehicles can be stolen without your knowledge.
