Logan District Police are warning food-delivery drivers to be vigilant, following an increase in reported car-thefts around the Browns Plains area.
It’s been reported that offenders are ordering food via food-delivery applications and once the driver arrives with the delivery and leaves the vehicle, the thieves steal it.
In one incident, a driver was assaulted.
Police are investigating these incidents and making advances towards identifying those involved in these crimes.
They urge all food-delivery drivers to employ crime-prevention measures to keep themselves and their property safe and secure.
Simple tips include; turning your vehicle off and removing the keys when exiting your vehicle, ensuring you lock your doors while you are stationary in your vehicle, being aware of your surroundings, and immediately phoning Triple Zero (000) in an emergency.
