What people did just before the latest Covid lockdown

  • Rod Stephen is a former television journalist and has worked as Foreign Editor for the Seven Network, Australian Bureau Chief for TV3 New Zealand, UK correspondent for Seven and ABC radio and as a producer for Reuters TV in London as well as SBS in Sydney and Melbourne before returning to Brisbane to work at 4BC.

Getting food, toilet paper and tissues, despite limitations at Coles and other supermarkets was the priority for many people as the photos below show.

And just half and hour before the lockdown it took around 30 minutes to get through the grocery checkouts at this Coles store.

At a nearby Dan Murphy’s alcohol outlet there were similar scenes around 15 minutes before the lockdown came into affect.
