There could be a smoke haze for the next few days across the southern end of Logan City and parts of the Gold Coast

It’s from a hazard reduction burn, planned this week by the Defence Department within the Canungra Field Training area.
Another burn’s been carried out by SEQ Water around Hinze Dam which officials say is likely to produce a reasonable amount of smoke.
Authorities say this week’s burns are in a bid to take advantage of the current ideal weather conditions to complete hazard reduction burns before conditions become too dry.
Crews are being told be ready to activate with officials moving to Bushfire Preparedness Level 2.
A taskforce is being deployed to the Rathdowney region in preparation for what’s expected to be a couple of days of “high risk” for the region.
