One Logan City Men’s Shed has just had a huge upgrade from Council, so the local members can keep up the good work.
Men’s Sheds are renowned across Logan City and the rest of Australia for being a community group and safe place for like minded local men to meet up for a chat, cuppa, and maybe to get their hands dirty is they so desire.
Beenleigh Districts Men’s Shed is the lucky community group receiving a Council upgrade. The group meets at their clubhouse on Plantation Rd Beenleigh throughout the week, and has been described by members as a ‘group who looks after the wellbeing of like minded men’.
“The shed is a top place to socialise and meet friendly people. It’s a place where you can find things to do or just have a yarn,” the group’s website reads.
“Many members have skill sets that they wish to keep active, by doing so they make the shed an interesting place to hang out. A person can learn new skills with the help of our skilled members, some of the skills include wood working, metal work, welding and basic computer skills.
“The members are always willing to help other’s and the community.”
Logan City Division 12 Councillor Karen Murphy took to social media to share the great news.
“Great news for the Beenleigh District Men’s Shed which has been upgraded with new lights.
“I received a lovely letter this week from the Men’s Shed thanking Council Officers for the upgrade which will ensure greater visibility and safety for their members.
“Well done Logan City Council team.”
