Logan City and the Scenic Rim can expect some brief relief from the heat Thursday.
The mercury hit a high of 39 in Beaudesert on Wednesday, while it peaked at 34 in Logan City.
Temperatures are expected to be four to five degrees cooler Thursday, but will head back up again on Friday.
The current heatwave began at the start of this week and years old records have been broken in many regions across the state.
