As retailers across Queensland enjoy a boom in the Boxing Day sales, Logan City locals are being warned against paying unfair payment fees.
Some businesses have been caught charging more than the typical fee to process customer payments by card.
The A-triple-C says shops do not have to offer a surcharge-free option, but cannot charge more than the cost of processing a debit or credit payment.
Consumers are urged to report those doing the wrong thing to the consumer watchdog.
