Council rates to increase in Logan City but by not as much as other parts of the south east

Logan City ratepayers will be paying more next financial year but not as much as those in Brisbane, the Gold Coast or in the Moreton region.

Rates in Logan will increase by 2.49 percent or seventy dollars and thirty cents annually excluding the bulk water charge.

Pensioners will benefit from a 4.29 percent increase to the annual remission which means they’ll receive 379 dollars and twenty cents for those on a full pension and 189 dollars and sixty cents for those on a part pension.

There’ll also be a five percent discount for the prompt payment or rates, no increases to the Council components of water and sewerage charges, a seven dollar increase to the annual environment levy and a 2.5 percent increase to the community services charge.
