Council support for flood hit residents and businesses in the Scenic Rim

Local residents impacted by floods are encouraged to contact Council for information to access support to help recovery.

LDMG Chair Mayor Greg Christensen is encouraging all residents and businesses to get in touch with Council for support.

“It’s a bit of a stereotype that people from rural areas just get on with it and while that may be true, we need all locals impacted by this weather event to alert Council.”

.“We ask you to call Council on 07 5540 5111 to advise of any impacted residences and businesses from across the region, so we can take your details and help you access  support information available to you.”

“Not only this, but it’s vital Council and emergency agency partners have a full picture of the scale of this weather event not only to manage recovery efforts, but also

 take learnings for future disasters.”

“Council has also created a webpage with information on various support avenues, grants and more which are available to impacted residents and businesses. You can view  this page at

“I again want to take this opportunity to thank our incredible emergency services, employees, Community Disaster Volunteers and all businesses and members of the community  who have come together to work through this event.”

“For any locals looking to pitch in and help recovery efforts, please head to Volunteer Queensland’s website at www.volunteeringqld.org.au or phone 07 3002 7600 to get connected to local recovery projects.”

“Please remain vigilant of dangerous conditions around the region, check roads on the Disaster Dashboard if you must travel, and stay out of floodwaters.”
