COVID-19 infections are still rising in Logan and the Scenic Rim, as Queensland records another 11 deaths from the virus overnight.
Queensland Health figures reveal there are now 14,767 cases in Logan, an increase of 1.018 infections, while the Scenic Rim has 716 cases, a jump of 80 infections.
Chief health officer Dr John Gerrard says one of the deaths was someone in their 30s who wasn’t vaccinated.
He says the others were one person in their 50s, two in their 60s, one in their 70s, three in their 80s and three in their 90s.
The new cases include 5,940 positive rapid antigen tests.
56 people have died in Queensland from COVID-19, the majority of those deaths since the the highly contagious Omicron variant began circulating on the 13th of last month.
