The Toowoomba region is officially ready for the border restrictions to relax by as early as the tenth of this month, after hitting the 80 per cent vaccination rate target.
The massive milestone means the Garden City is ahead of Queensland’s vaccination rate by as much as two weeks.
Queensland’s current border restrictions will ease again when the entire state hits the 80 percent vaccination mark.
More than 600 vaccines are being administered across the region every day by GPs and public health officials, while nine out of 10 locals have had at least one dose.
At the current rate, Toowoomba could achieve the 90 per cent mark just days before Christmas.
