Goondiwindi’s Lanescape Festival to kick off next weekend

Goondiwindi’s Lanescape Festival 2021 is back again and ready to showcase another year of art next weekend as locals and visitors gear up for the event.

On the15th October from 5pm to 9pm at Bowen Lane, attendees can enjoy a plethora of food, drinks, kids corner, free entertainment and live music, with free entry – the perfect opportunity to catch up with friends or to bring the family.

Since 2018, Lanescape Inc was created by a local committee wanting to inspire community connectivity to arts and culture through vibrant evolving spaces and places, and is the recipient of the Australia Day Award for Community Event of the Year for the Goondiwindi Region in 2020.

The festival hopes to create an annual public art event which promotes art and culture, supports tourism, increases the liveability of the Goondiwindi area and improves community participation in arts and culture across the region.

This a roaming festival, so those interested in coming should pack a picnic blanket or some fold away chairs, and enjoy the festivities.

This years festival will be celebrating Tia Carrigan who painted the toilet block mural near the jetty earlier this year, as well as Leans (Sam Wilkinson) who will be finalising his painting of the water pump station at the end of Herbert Street on the day of the festival, and Sarah Sculley who is working closely with local High School kids to deliver semi-permanent artwork.
