Heatwave on the way for Logan, Scenic Rim

Another burst of hot weather is on the way this weekend with temperatures expected to rise by five to ten degrees above average in Logan City and the Scenic Rim.

The hot and muggy weather will also bring a high fire danger to some parts of the region.

Forecasters say it’s not unusual to get a couple of heatwaves during springtime.

They say northerly winds blowing for several days when there are stable weather patterns and no storms often lead to very high temperatures.

There is also a chance of storms in the region before the heat sets in.
