Dangerous storms brought intense rainfall to Logan City and the Scenic Rim Monday night with the Bureau of Meteorology issuing a flood warning for the Logan River.

Rainfall totals between 20mm and 80mm were recorded in the Logan and Albert catchments, with many locations recording between 30mm and 50mm in only one hour.

The severe thunderstorms swept in across the region from the northwest, bringing intense rainfalls in different areas.

Forecaster Lauren Pattie said in just one hour 58mm fell in the Beaudesert area, 53mm at Palen Creek in the Scenic Rim, while 110mm was dumped on Beenleigh in the space of just 60 minutes.
