Logan City man arrested and charged over armed robbery of a St George hotel

A Logan City man is one of two people arrested and charged over the armed robbery of a hotel in St George.

Two employees, a 67-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman suffered non-life-threatening-injuries during the alleged incident last Thursday (May 20).

A car was found burnt out in a nearby laneway shortly afterwards.

A 28-year-old St George man was arrested on Wednesday morning (May 26) and taken to the Toowoomba Watchhouse.

He’s been charged with three counts each of armed robbery in company using personal violence, deprivation of liberty and one count each of enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence, enter dwelling with intent at night in company and possession of a pipe.

A 30-year-old  Meadowbrook man was arrested on the weekend and taken to Southport Watchhouse. He was charged with four counts of stealing, three counts each of armed robbery in company using personal violence and deprivation of liberty.

He’s also been charged with one count each of enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence, enter dwelling with intent at night in company, arson, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and bringing stolen goods into Queensland.

They’ve both been remanded in custody and are next due to appear before the Saint George Magistrates Court on July 13.
