Logan City Mayor Darren Power said he wanted to congratulate local residents for their efforts during the long weekend lockdown, but also warned of the possibility of mandatory masks for longer than ten days.
“I’ve got to say that it seems that everyone has been working hard to rectify the situation,” he said.
“Everyone knows the seriousness and needs to be congratulated.
“I think we’re going to have to get used to the idea of face masks.
“Face masks are possibility going to be a compulsory item until immunisation is a possibility.
“Please go buy a mask. I think they’re here to stay until the majority of us get vaccinated.
“When it comes to your mask, uniqueness is key. It’s not something you want to be getting mixed up with others.
“I have a black one that’s been homemade to fit my face exactly. Actually I have two, that my wife made.
“I think the way to go is to have something that is individual in your own style that you’re comfortable in wearing regularly. Since you might be wearing it for a while.”
