The Logan East Community Neighbourhood Association (LECNA) has just celebrated its 30 year anniversary.
Executive community manager Gillian Marshall from LECNA said they invited locals who have been part of the LECNA journey over the past 30 years and into the present.
“It was a wonderful evening with memorabilia on display and 30th birthday messages from over 20 significant LECNA people, including our local State and Federal MP’s, local Councillor and Mayor,” she said.
“The MC of the event was ex-Logan Mayor, Pam Parker and we heard from our supportive local Federal Member: The Hon Jim Chalmers MP.
“We heard from sisters, who ran the place for over 20 years: Julie Fursey and Colleen Benson, along with Nigel Brown from council, Kerry Dee, a LECNA participant who shared of her gambling addiction and discovery of LECNA and how she now fills her days with activities and programs and was an Emergency Relief volunteer for many years.
“The Logan East Community Neighbourhood Association has been a staple, place based community organisation, building better lives here for over 30 years.
“It was such a pleasure to celebrate the journey, the tough times and the small and large wins over the years, with the consistent delivery of excellent programs and community engagement for thousands of Logan locals.
“Congratulations to all!”
