A Logan City man’s been jailed for animal cruelty.
The court was told, In July last year the 23 year old wrapped a kitten in duct tape before attaching fireworks to its back.
He then set-off the fireworks.
The kitten survived the ordeal but suffered burns to its face and ears and was dumped in a wheelie bin at Park Ridge.
The kitten has since been re-homed.
The 23 year old pleaded guilty in the Beenleigh Magistrates court and was sentenced to six months in jail.
The man will be eligible for parole in 2 months.
He was also banned from owning a pet for the next five years.
