Mandatory masks for workers at Kmart stores across Logan City

Kmart stores across Logan have introduced mandatory masks for workers, contractors and corporate visitors in response to a recent increase in COVID 19 cases in the city.  The decision that came into effect on August 26 this year requires all staff to wear masks in high-risk stores in the city of Logan, Ipswich, Brisbane, Scenic Rim Region, Somerset Region, Lockyer Valley Region, Moreton Bay Region and Redlands.

It is not known at this stage whether KMart will extend the decision to include the Gold Coast after Kmart Oxenford was included in the state Government’s latest round of contact tracing after a customer tested positive to Covid 19.

While the wearing of masks in mandatory for staff, Kmart is only strongly urging customers to their stores to wear masks while shopping in-store.

Kmart staff are also required to wear face masks in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory and Kmart stores are currently closed in Melbourne due to stage 4 restrictions but are still operating click and collect in that state.
