Logan City and the Scenic Rim remain on track to have the mandatory mask wearing restriction lifted this Friday, despite the most recent Covid 19 scare.
A fully vaccinated woman who returned to Queensland from Melbourne has tested positive, However she wore a mask while visiting shops on the Sunshine Coast, before flying from Brisbane to Cairns.
Acting Premier Steven Miles says the restrictions that were put in place appear to have been effective:
The woman – who’s in her 20s flew up to Maroochydore from Melbourne last Tuesday.

She then used public transport including an Uber and a train to Brisbane airport, before catching Virgin flight 791 to Cairns last Friday.
Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young says the woman most likely has the Delta variant but is awaiting confirmation.
