Mount Cotton Road upgrade moves up a gear

A planning study to upgrade Mount Cotton Road, between Sheldon and Mount Cotton is underway and will be completed in two stages.

Member for Springwood Mick de Brenni says the tender for the first stage has been awarded to SMEC Australia Pty Ltd.

“The Queensland Government is committed to improving the connectivity and safety of our road network through the record $27.5 billion four-year roads and transport plan.”

“Mount Cotton Road is a key connector for this community, so we need to make sure the project delivers the best outcome for everyone who uses the road.”

“SMEC Australia will investigate options to upgrade Mount Cotton Road from Duncan Road to Double Jump Road that will address long-term community needs, as well as potential safety and efficiency improvements.”

The planning study is expected to be completed late next year.
