Police are appealing to the public for information following a traffic crash and alleged assault at Underwood yesterday afternoon.
Initial inquiries indicate that around 2:30pm, an 83-year-old man was driving a silver Toyota Camry along Kingston Road between Compton Road and Kenway Drive before colliding with a small red hatchback.
Following the collision, it’s alleged the female driver of the hatchback got out of her car and assaulted the man before he attempted to drive away in his car.
It’s further alleged the woman followed the man for some time before he stopped near Logan Road, where she then assaulted him again.
Members of the public assisted the man at the time of the second assault.
He sustained injuries to his arm and shoulder in the incident.
The female driver is approximately 155 centimetres tall, with olive skin, of middle eastern appearance, and was wearing a shirt and trousers.
Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have information, dashcam or CCTV footage of the area from around the time of the incident to contact police.
