The Member for New England will be sworn in today as National Party leader and Deputy Prime Minister.
As My News Feed reported Yesterday, Barnaby Joyce won a leadership spill against Michael McCormack after being forced to stand aside three years ago, following allegations of harrassment and an affair.
Mr Joyce says he always looked after his New England electorate and he’s learned from his mistakes, so it’s time to move forward.
“I acknowledge my faults” he told reporters.
“I spent three years on the back-bench and I hope to come back a better person.
“I don’t walk away from the fact that you have to have time to consider not only the effect on yourself, but more importantly the effect on others”.
It’s bound to be a quick swearing in session today as My Joyce is also handling a variety of political matters with Parliament sitting in Canberra this week and a new Nationals agreement needs to be worked out with the Prime Minister.
