Pink Stumps Day another roaring success in Jimboomba

The annual Pink Stumps Day celebrity game has become a must-do event in Jimboomba in recent years. This year was no different with the local ground seeing an influx of spectators last Saturday night.

Australian cricket royalty Glenn McGrath was in attendance and even opened the bowling for the celebrity team at the event which raises much-needed funds for the McGrath Foundation.

McGrath stated that the foundation and himself had been very impressed with the incredible amount of fundraising Jimboomba had managed to achieve in recent years. Specifically mentioning the club being number 2 in the country in last year’s fundraising efforts.

McGrath however wasn’t the only cricketing legend in attendance with Carl Rackemann, Jimmy Maher, Nathan Reardon, Michael Kasprowicz, and Cameron Boyce all in attendance. Along with Leigh Drennan and Andrew Gode from the We Got The Chocolates podcast. The celebrity team would end up falling short of the required target in order to win the game however no one can deny the entertainment factor they provide.

In the locker rooms after the game Kasprowicz (who was there for the second year in a row) stated how this event was an amazing example of the strength of the community.

The final fundraising tally is yet to be announced but we will update you when it is available.
