Logan City and the Scenic Rim have shivered through their coldest June mornings in seven years.

The mercury dropped to just six degrees in Logan Central on Sunday morning while Canungra was the coldest spot in the region, sitting just above freezing at point five of a degree.

That’s not as bad as late last week when Canungra’s overnight temperature was -0.2.

The chilly starts over the past week were the result of a cold front which has now passed, leaving dry cool air in its wake.

Across the southeast, the temperature was generally four to eight degrees below average.

Forecasters say our overnight temperatures will be back in the mid-teens by Wednesday.
