The consumer watchdog says it’s more important than ever to shop around for petrol across Logan City and the Scenic Rim.
The average price at the pump skyrocketed recently, but has started to come down to an average price of $1.55 for unleaded.
Some independent service stations in Logan City have kept the cost of unleaded at under $1.53 per litre.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission says it’s important motorists shop around.
Commission Chairman Rod Simms says taking the cheapest option would save hundreds of dollars a year.
“That gap between the highest and lowest prices is just increasing.
“The problem’s getting worse and it really does pay you to just have a look and find one of those independent chains and buy your petrol from them”.
