It’s pretty much a carbon copy of Wednesday in Logan City as far as the ongoing wet weather is concerned.
Severe thunderstorms have been moving into the region from the Gold Coast and Beenleigh was in their path.
The storms dumped around 42mm of rain in just 30 minutes.
The Bureau of Meteorology said that the severe thunderstorms were likely to produce heavy rainfall that could lead to flash flooding in some areas, including Beenleigh. Showers were likely to continue into Friday.
The big wet has been causing more than its fair its share of difficulties on the roads with a spate of traffic accidents right across Logan City.
It started during Thursday morning’s peak hour with several crashes on the M1 that caused backups and lengthy delays, particularly in the northbound lanes, either side of Beenleigh.
