In a Queensland first, a dental clinic in Shailer Park is going to become a COVID-19 Pfizer vaccination hub from this Sunday.
The Shailer Park Dental clinic, at 64 Bryant Road, will be used by doctors from outside the practice on Sundays to provide vaccinations free of charge to all individuals aged 12 and older, including those over the age of 60.
Using the facilities at the dental practice, the vaccine clinic will be operated and run by Australian trained GPs, and qualified nursing staff.
It comes as the vaccination rate in Logan sits at 32 percent which is noticeably lower than Brisbane where 47 per cent of people are fully vaccinated and Moreton Bay where 42 percent of the population has had both jabs.
Practice manager and registered nurse, Mundeep Kaur says it’s a family friendly clinic.
She says the clinic has also been equipped with the appropriate fridges and equipment needed to store the vaccine.
Anyone booked in for a vaccine will need to take their medicare card with them to the clinic.
