Taukinukufili Taufa, widely known as Tau, passed away on January 13, after a long battle with dementia.
Mr Taufa survived the blaze that claimed 11 lives on August 24, 2011.
Fusi Taufa, 57, Teukisia Jeanette Lale, 42, Anna Malaia Taufa, 23, La’haina Uheina Taufa, 6, Kalahnie Fusikalau Fiavaii Taufa, 3, Jeremiah, 17, Lini Paul, 17, Jeanette Lafoia, 13, Selemafi Letoia, 9, Richard Steven, 7 and Ardelle Tapanese Lee, 15, lost their lives in the fire.
The family had just moved in to the house following the floods which swamped many parts of Logan in January.
A coroner’s report found no evidence that the fire had been deliberately lit.
It is believed it started in a downstairs office near a desk.
The blaze led to new regulations being introduced.
An emotional service was held last year marking the 10th anniversary of the house fire.
Tau is missed by many, but especially his by daughter Treicee, as well as sons Sam and Loto.
