Calf rescued on Tamborine Mountain

Emergency services have rescued a calf after it fell down an embankment on Tamborine Mountain on Sunday.

Fire and Rescue Service crews from Beenleigh and Tamborine Mountain were called to a Main Western Road property, just before 4pm.

The responding crews were sent into dense and steep terrain to search for the calf.

The calf was located at about 5.30pm, 40 metres down an embankment.

The thick lantana broke the calf’s fall, but made the recovery mission extremely difficult.

Firies were able to secure it onto a stretcher and reunite her with mum at about 6.30pm.

Miraculously, she came away with barely a scratch.
