Home owners beware!
The coming month could spell disaster around the house with conditions becoming conducive for termites to be on the move.
“They love the wet – they love the heat – they love timber” according to Cameron Compton from “Termites R us”.
“I’ve been in this business for 10 years and I’ve seen horrendous situations, while others are lucky to just walk away with just a hole to fix”.
Next month, the “Flying” termites will be seen in the air. “There’s just a one percent chance they’ll cause any damage, but the real problem will be the potential for infestations as they move through the ground”.
Mr Compton said he has seen a full house renovation end with the dwelling being condemned by council, simply because the termite problem was so bad. “Home owners need to be proactive” he said
“A chemical barrier will kill the termites 99% of the time, but at the very least, just get an annual inspection”.
