The COVID-19 border bubble has been reinstated for northern New South Wales

All of northern New South Wales is now back in the border bubble with Queensland after stay-at-home orders were lifted across the region at one o’clock this morning.

Bourke Shire, Broken Hill, Kyogle, Lismore, Richmond Valley, and the unincorporated Far West have returned to the non-restricted border zone after being excluded because of local outbreaks.

That means residents from those regions can once again cross into Queensland for essential reasons such as work and attending school.

Queensland residents can also travel to those regions again for the same reasons.

Anyone who travels across the border has to follow face mask protocols while in Queensland, and those who are travelling for essential work will need to have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
