Meet the “New Liberals” candidate aiming to attract those unhappy with the “Old Liberals” brand

An aspiring political candidate was spotted today joining the Eagleby Mud Army at the Giants junior rugby league club.

Samuel Holland is a bio-scientist from the University of Queensland running for the seat of Forde at the upcoming federal election with political party The New Liberals.

Mr Holland is a local resident and an enthusiastic candidate who enjoys chatting with locals and hearing their concerns.

“I am a scientist and want to become the federal representative for the electorate I grew up in -Forde.

“For too long we have been neglected by our representatives. For too long we have been treated as an accessory, that can be ignored.

“And for too long we have been treated as a safe seat, not worthy of consideration or respect. I want to change that.”

He believes the electorate should be a hub for both unskilled, and skilled workers such as himself who have to move from the area to find employment.

“I want to invest in our local infrastructure so that we can stop youth and skilled workers feeling pressured to move away to Brisbane or the Gold Coast because they provide more opportunities.

“I also want to collaborate with the State government to provide more public transport to the rural and semi-rural parts of our communities.

“Everyone in our community has the opportunity to commute to work or study without the need for private transportation.”
