‘The White House of Waterford’ a must visit on Logan City Food Trails

Popular à la carte restaurant The White House of Waterford is a must visit these holidays for those looking for a taste sensation.

This year, the restaurant made The Logan City Food Trails list, an important initiative of Logan City Council and the Council of Mayors (SEQ).

“The past 12 months have been challenging for our hospitality industry so it is more important than ever that we promote our local food businesses, especially at a time when we are being encouraged to support local economies by exploring our own backyards,” City Lifestyle Committee Chairperson Councillor Laurie Koranski says.

Co-owner of The White House of Waterford Rebecca Cobbing, who is excited to be part of the city’s food trails initiative, was originally working in the bridal industry before pursuing the restaurant venture with her husband.

“When we first saw the venue, we were wondering if it was a wedding venue, or restaurant or cafe,” she says. “But once we saw the gardens in the back, we decided to do it.

“As a chef myself, and having parents who are both chefs, we decided to start with an à la carte menu and have been building on that, which was five years ago now.”

Ms Cobbing says some of the most popular dishes at the restaurant are made with salted caramel.

“Salted caramel with black pepper pork belly is a favourite,” she says. “We also have a salted caramel espresso martini, which many reviews have said is the best they’ve ever had!”

Ms Cobbing said the restaurant, which specialises in premium, quality produce, endured some rough patches, especially during 2020, but with the support of the local community it helped the team get through.
