The Queensland Treasurer and state MP for Woodridge, has put his full support behind  a bold new plan to transform the Gabba  ahead of the proposed 2032 Olympics earmarked for South-East Queensland.

Cameron Dick says the plan would see the stadium undergoing a one-billion dollar facelift to become the new main stage arena,  should the Olympics bid be successful.

The site would stage the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the athletics events and seat as many as 50 thousand spectators

Mr Dick has the Olympics would also have other benefits.

“Securing the world’s biggest and best sporting event will help us recover from COVID-19. It will be a sign of great confidence in our state as we recover from COVID- 19 and it will create jobs for Queenslanders for a decade”.

As previously reported, infrastructure in Logan City would also be included as Games venues.
